Veteran sports journalist Aghor Mondol has passed away. He had been suffering from various health complications, including kidney issues and heart disease, for a long time. Although his kidney condition had somewhat stabilised through treatment, Mondol contracted dengue on 5 September. He had been receiving treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical Hospital since then, where he breathed his last today at the age of 58.

Mondol's family confirmed the news of his passing. His body will be taken from the hospital to his workplace, ATN News, where colleagues can pay their respects. It will then be moved to the Handball Federation for further tributes, followed by the Dhaka Reporters Unity. His body will finally be taken to his residence in Hatirpool before being cremated tonight at the Postogola crematorium.

Mondol's health deteriorated during his hospital stay, leading to his transfer from a general cabin to the ICU. Eventually, he was placed on life support, but despite doctors' best efforts, he passed away today. He is survived by his wife and two daughters, along with numerous admirers.
