Umpires for Bangladesh’s Super Eight Matches
Umpires for Bangladesh’s Super Eight Matches
Bangladesh achieved its most significant milestone in the history of the T20 World Cup by reaching the Super Eight for the first time. With a 21-run victory against Nepal, Bangladesh became the eighth team to qualify for the Super Eight. A total of 16 umpires will be involved in officiating the 12 matches in this round. Several experienced umpires will officiate Bangladesh's three matches in the Super Eight.
In the Super Eight, Bangladesh is placed in Group '1' and will face Australia, India, and Afghanistan. On June 21, at 6:30 AM Bangladesh time, the Tigers will play their first match against Australia in Antigua. The on-field umpires for this match will be Richard Illingworth and Michael Gough from England, with Kumar Dharmasena from Sri Lanka serving as the TV umpire.
The following day, at the same venue, Bangladesh will take on India in a night match scheduled for 8:30 PM. Michael Gough will again serve as the on-field umpire, alongside Adrian Holdstock from South Africa. Langton Rusere will be the TV umpire for this match in Antigua.
Bangladesh's final match in the Super Eight will be on June 25 against Afghanistan, to be played in Saint Vincent. This game will start at 6:30 AM Bangladesh time. The Tigers, led by Najmul Hossain Shanto, secured their place in the Super Eight by winning their last two group matches at this venue against the Netherlands and Nepal. Nitin Menon from India and Langton Rusere will be the on-field umpires for the Bangladesh-Afghanistan match, while Adrian Holdstock will take on the role of TV umpire.
