Taskin Ahmed Apologizes for Missing Team Bus Before India's Match
Taskin Ahmed has apologized for issues such as waking up late and subsequently missing the team bus before the match against India. The vice-captain of the Bangladesh team missed the team bus because he did not wake up on time. Consequently, he was not included in the crucial match's best eleven.
Before the Super Eight match against India in the recently concluded ICC T20 World Cup, Taskin Ahmed missed the team bus from the hotel and arrived late at the ground, after which he apologized to his teammates. This information was revealed in a report by Cricbuzz.
The Tiger team management had to decide to play only two pace bowlers against India and to exclude Taskin from the eleven.
Bangladesh's second match came 34 hours after their loss to Australia. India was the opponent at the same ground in Antigua. It was a crucial match for the Tigers to stay in the race for the semifinals. Taskin Ahmed was an automatic choice for the best eleven. However, everyone was surprised not to see Taskin in Bangladesh's best eleven after the toss. Questions arose about what happened suddenly that caused Taskin not to play and why Zakir Ali Anik was included instead.
Taskin Ahmed, who regularly played against India's strong batting attack, was benched. An additional batsman was included. The team management faced severe criticism for this decision. Former captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza also expressed his surprise at not seeing Taskin in the eleven. Was Taskin really absent because of oversleeping? Taskin was indeed with the team when they went out for the national anthem.
