Sylhet Confirmed as Venue for Second Test Despite Rain Concerns BCB
The Sylhet International Cricket Stadium is set to host the second Test amid growing concerns over weather conditions. Despite uncertainty surrounding the forecast, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has finalized the venue, putting an end to speculation.
In an official statement today, the BCB confirmed that the final Test of the series between Bangladesh and Pakistan will be held in Sylhet. However, concerns regarding the weather remain, as the situation continues to be closely monitored.
Even with potential weather disruptions in mind, the board has retained Sylhet as the host venue. According to weather forecasts from AccuWeather, there is a strong possibility of thunderstorms and rain on all five days of the match from May 16 to May 20, which could pose significant challenges for match proceedings.
Meanwhile, the BCB has also announced the squad for the second Test. There are no changes from the first Test squad, meaning Bangladesh will take the field with an unchanged lineup for the final match.
Najmul Hossain Shanto will continue to lead the side as captain, with Mehidy Hasan Miraz serving as vice-captain. The squad includes Tanzid Hasan, Amit Hasan, Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Shadman Islam, Mominul Haque, Mushfiqur Rahim, and Litton Das.
In the bowling unit, Taijul Islam, Nayeem Hasan, Ebadot Hossain, Nahid Rana, Taskin Ahmed, and Shoriful Islam have been included.
