Ravindra Jadeja reveals target India want to set against Bangladesh

At the end of the second day of the Chennai Test, India is in a strong position for victory. With a first-innings lead of 227 runs, the hosts are now 308 runs ahead of Bangladesh. The Indian team is aiming to set a challenging target for Bangladesh. After the day's play, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja shared their plans moving forward.

India was all out for 376 in their first innings, while they restricted Bangladesh to just 149 runs. The Tigers were dismissed before the follow-on threshold, managing to play only 47.1 overs. Instead of enforcing the follow-on, India chose to bat again. They will start the third day at 81 runs for the loss of 3 wickets.

Star players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have yet to find their rhythm. However, Shubman Gill, who had a disappointing first innings, has regained his form, leaving the Bangladeshi bowlers with no opportunities. Tomorrow morning, he and Rishabh Pant will look to significantly extend their lead.

With India firmly in control, the second day of the Chennai Test clearly indicates that Rohit and Kohli's team is on the verge of a first Test victory.

After the day's play, Jadeja outlined their strategy for the outcome of the Test: "We need to set a solid score in our second innings. We aim to add another 120 to 150 runs. After that, we want to dismiss them (Bangladesh) as quickly as possible."

He also commented on the pitch conditions: "The pitch is very good for batting, but there’s something for the fast bowlers as well. Some balls are moving, and if the fast bowlers work hard, they can take wickets. There’s also some spin and a few balls keeping low."
