Pre-Signed & Retained Players list before LPL player auction

The player auction for the Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2024 will take place tomorrow, May 21, in Colombo. A total of 420 cricketers from Sri Lanka and other countries will be up for auction.

Among the 420 cricketers, 154 are Sri Lankan, while the rest are from other cricket-playing nations. The auction will commence at 12 PM Lankan time. After selecting players in 18 rounds, the franchises can acquire additional players in an accelerated auction.

Charu Sharma will once again conduct the LPL auction this year.

Before the auction, franchises have released the list of pre-signed and retained players:

Colombo: Chamika Karunaratne, Thisara Perera, Sadeera Samarawickrama, Nipun Dhananjaya, Shadab Khan, Glenn Phillips.

Dambulla: Dilshan Madushanka, Nuwan Thushara, Dushan Hemantha, Praveen Jayawickrama, Mustafizur Rahman, Ibrahim Zadran.

Galle: Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Lasith Croospulle, Niroshan Dickwella, Maheesh Theekshana, Tim Seifert, Alex Hales.

Jaffna: Kusal Mendis, Avishka Fernando, Charith Asalanka, Vijayakanth Viyaskanth, Azmatullah Omarzai, Noor Ahmad.

Kandy: Wanindu Hasaranga, Angelo Mathews, Dushmantha Chameera, Kamindu Mendis, Andre Fletcher, Kyle Mayers.

The 5th edition of the LPL will be held from July 1 to 21.

Cricketers from 24 countries have shown interest in playing in the LPL. The five franchises will select players from the auction.

Among the interested cricketers are stars like Tamim Iqbal, Tim Southee, Rassie van der Dussen, Jimmy Neesham, Mushfiqur Rahim, Reeza Hendricks, Rilee Rossouw, Shai Hope, Taskin Ahmed, Lungi Ngidi, Naseem Shah, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Colin Munro, Ish Sodhi, Mark Chapman, Jason Behrendorff, Andre Fletcher, Oshane Thomas, Keemo Paul, Fabian Allen.

Additionally, Usman Khawaja, Tabraiz Shamsi, Evin Lewis, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Noor Ahmad, Reece Topley, Iftikhar Ahmed, Mohammad Nawaz, Gulbadin Naib, and Ibrahim Zadran have also expressed interest.
