Pakistan has announced a 15-member squad for the first Test against England, set to take place in Multan starting October 7. Notably, 37-year-old left-arm spinner Noman Ali has been included in the squad, along with pacer Aamir Jamal.
Noman Ali has played 15 Test matches for Pakistan, taking a total of 47 wickets at an average of 33.53. The experienced player last appeared in a Test in July 2023. Aamir Jamal has been brought into the team following Khurram Shahzad's injury, and he is deemed fit to play in the first Test after missing the series against Bangladesh due to injury.
Kamran Ghulam and Mohammad Ali have been excluded from the squad, despite being part of the team in the recent Bangladesh Test series. The selectors confirmed that both players remain in their plans moving forward.
Pakistan currently sits in eighth place in the ICC World Test Championship standings following their series loss to Bangladesh at home.
