Mumbai Indians Retain 5 Indian Cricketers for IPL 2025
The Mumbai Indians (MI), one of the most successful teams in the Indian Premier League (IPL), has retained five players ahead of the 2025 season. This franchise, owned by one of the world's richest individuals, Mukesh Ambani, is preparing for the upcoming tournament.
The retained players include Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, and Tilak Varma. The team has not retained any overseas players.
To retain Jasprit Bumrah, Mumbai Indians spent the highest amount of ₹8 crore. They also spent ₹16.35 crore each on Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya. Rohit Sharma was retained for ₹16.30 crore, while Tilak Varma was kept for ₹8 crore.
Hardik Pandya will continue to lead the Mumbai Indians in IPL 2025, with Jasprit Bumrah fetching the highest price in retention.
Mumbai Indians have spent a total of ₹75 crore in retention, leaving them with ₹45 crore in their purse. They will have one Right to Match (RTM) card available in the IPL auction.
The franchise did not retain Ishan Kishan and Tim David, who were part of the MI squad last season.
