Jayden Seales’ Historic Bowling Performance in Kingston Test

Jayden Seales’ incredible bowling figures of 15.5-10-5-4 not only sank Bangladesh’s innings in the Kingston Test but also etched his name into the history books. Since 1977, Seales has become the most economical bowler in a Test innings among those who have bowled at least 90 deliveries.

After delivering an unreal spell against Bangladesh in the first innings, Seales claimed the top spot in the record books. With an economy rate of 0.31 runs per over, he now holds the record for the most economical bowling performance in Test history for bowlers delivering at least 90 balls. Seales achieved this feat in Jamaica, conceding just 5 runs in his 15.5 overs.

Bangladesh started the day at Sabina Park on 69/2 but crumbled under batting failures, losing 4 wickets in each of the next two sessions to get bowled out for 164 in 71.5 overs. Seales played a pivotal role in wrapping up the innings with a fiery spell. Out of his 15.5 overs, he bowled 10 maidens and took 4 wickets while conceding only 5 runs.

Before Seales, the record belonged to Indian pacer Umesh Yadav, who delivered at an economy rate of 0.42 in a 21-over spell against South Africa in a 2015 Test. Seales broke this record with his outstanding performance, dismissing Liton Das, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Taskin Ahmed, and Nahid Rana on his way to glory.
