India's Losing Streak at Toss Continues: 13th Consecutive Loss in ODI

India’s unlucky run at the toss continues in One-Day Internationals (ODIs), as they lost their 13th consecutive toss today. Rohit Sharma, India's captain, has now lost 10 consecutive tosses, making it a record-breaking streak. Since November 2023, Rohit has failed to win a toss in ODIs.

Today’s toss loss against New Zealand marks the 13th consecutive toss loss for India in ODIs, setting a new record for the longest losing streak in ODI toss history. The previous record was held by the Netherlands, who lost 11 consecutive tosses.

In today’s match in Dubai, New Zealand won the toss and opted to field first. This loss continues a strange trend for India, as they have lost the toss in their previous two matches at the same venue. The streak began during the final of the 2023 ICC Men's Cricket World Cup.

Interestingly, Rohit Sharma hasn't captained all of India’s matches during this streak. In fact, KL Rahul has captained India in three of these matches, and he too lost the toss every time.

The record for the most consecutive toss losses as a captain is held by Brian Lara with 12, followed by Peter Borren with 11. Rohit now holds the third spot with 10 consecutive toss losses.
