Pakistan, reeling from a surprising defeat to hosts USA in their first match, will face their arch-rivals India today. Naturally, Babar Azam's team is on the back foot. However, Indian captain Rohit Sharma is not taking this match lightly at all.

The cricket clash between the two arch-rivals will take place at 8:30 PM tonight at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. Before the match, India's Rohit Sharma praised Pakistan during a press conference.

Rohit mentioned that Pakistan has the potential to reach the finals, as they did in the last T20 World Cup despite losing to Zimbabwe.

"This is the unpredictable nature of T20 cricket, anything can happen. Even in the last World Cup, Pakistan lost to Zimbabwe but still made it to the finals. Just because they lost their last match, it doesn’t mean they will play badly or lose again. They will definitely rectify their mistakes and come out fighting," said Rohit.

Speaking about the team's performance, Rohit emphasized the importance of the collective capability and effort of the team.

"Regardless of the pitch and the opponent, we all need to play our best cricket. We have discussed our plans ahead of the match against Pakistan and will play according to the situation."

"Our team is enriched with experienced players. We expect the best from them. We do not want to rely on just one or two individuals. The entire playing XI has to give their best."

Describing the conditions of the New York stadium, Rohit mentioned that although India has played two matches here before, both teams will face the same conditions.

"The conditions and opportunities in New York are the same for both teams. We have been here for 6-7 days. This is not our home ground."

"The team that plays well will win. It doesn’t matter who arrived in New York earlier. We ourselves don’t know what the wicket might be like," added Rohit.
