India Announces T20 Squad for South Africa Tour
India has called up Raman Deep Singh and Vijaykumar Vishak for the T20 series against South Africa. However, Riyan Parag, Mayank Yadav, and Shivam Dube have lost their places in the squad due to injuries. Yash Dayal, who is awaiting his debut, has also been included in the team.
This series marks the first call-up for middle-order batter Raman Deep Singh and pacer Vijaykumar Vishak as part of a four-match T20 series starting on November 8 in Durban.
Harshit Rana, Washington Sundar, and Nitish Kumar Reddy, who recently played in the series against Bangladesh, will not be part of the squad as they are set to tour Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Spin-bowling all-rounder Axar Patel, pacer Yash Dayal, and Avesh Khan have been added to the squad.
With the South Africa tour partially coinciding with the Test tour of Australia, the T20I squad is also without fast bowler Harshit Rana and allrounder Nitish Kumar Reddy, as well as established all-format players including Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Jasprit Bumrah and the injured Kuldeep Yadav.
India are scheduled to play four T20Is in South Africa, in Durban (November 8), Gqueberha (November 10), Centurion (November 13) and Johannesburg (November 15).
