I have accepted this reality; there's no other option: Taijul Islam

On a day marked by batting failures, Taijul Islam emerged as Bangladesh's standout performer. Showcasing his prowess with the ball, he managed to keep the team somewhat relieved at the end of the day. On a day when he achieved the milestone of 200 Test wickets, he also enjoyed the sweet taste of a five-wicket haul. However, amid these accomplishments, Taijul harbors some regrets.

After the day's play, Taijul shared many behind-the-scenes thoughts. Despite consistently performing match after match, he has struggled to secure a regular spot in the playing XI. Often, he is left out due to team combination issues, and at times, he has been overlooked even after being the top performer in previous series. These experiences weigh heavily on him, leading to his disappointment.

In Mirpur, Taijul voiced many unspoken sentiments, stating, "To be honest, in our country, a lot happens just by word of mouth. There are many who perform poorly but become stars after being trolled, while others perform well but never make it. I have accepted this reality; there's no other option."

Regarding the challenge of getting a spot in the XI due to Shakib Al Hasan's presence, Taijul was asked if he feels a bit relieved with Shakib's retirement seeming likely. He responded with a laugh, "Everyone thinks that whether Shakib bhai is there or not, I take wickets because of him. Whether he's there or not, I still take wickets because of him."
