Delhi Capitals announce Sediqullah Atal as replacement for Harry Brook
Brook had withdrawn from IPL due to personal reasons, and subsequently runs the risk of being banned for two seasons with the new IPL regulations. As his replacement, Atal will join DC for his base price of INR 1.25 Crore, confirmed BCCI in a release. The 23-year-old Atal has a strike-rate of 131 in 49 T20s but has not featured in the IPL before. He has however featured in the SA20, playing three games for MI Cape Town. Coincidentally, he scored 74 off 46 while opening the batting against Pretoria Capitals. For Afghanistan, he's played in 9 T20Is and as many ODIs, along with one Test. He joins the Capitals in the midst of a topsy-turvy season where they started off with four consecutive wins but have since slipped to fifth spot. The Capitals are still in the reckoning for a playoffs spot.
