Former Australian cricketer David Warner is all set to make his debut in Indian Telugu cinema. He will appear in a cameo role in the upcoming Telugu film Robinhood, directed by Venkie Kudumula. The movie will star Nithiin and Shriya Sreeleela and is set to release on March 28, 2025.
On March 15, the first look poster of Robinhood was released on social media, welcoming the Australian legend with the message: "From boundary to box office, welcome to Indian cinema." Warner shared the poster, writing, "Indian cinema, here I come! I am thrilled to be a part of Robinhood. The experience of shooting for this film has been fantastic."
Netizens have reacted with excitement to David Warner's entry into the world of cinema. One user commented, "I'll watch my first Telugu film for you." Another said, "You'll hit a six in acting too, buddy." A third person remarked, "Why have you entered the Indian entertainment industry?"
It’s noteworthy that David Warner's connection with Telugu cinema goes way back. After leading Sunrisers Hyderabad to an IPL title in 2016, his love for Telugu music and dance became public. Videos of him dancing to popular Telugu songs like Shreevalli (from Pushpa) and Mind Block (from Sarkaru Vaari Paata) went viral on social media.
Telugu cinema lovers are excited about Robinhood and eagerly await to see how Warner brings something new to the screen with his acting debut.
