BPL Cricketer Becomes Brand Ambassador for Gambling Company
With each passing day, cricket is becoming increasingly intertwined with some of the world's biggest gambling companies. Aside from sponsoring major tournaments, these companies are now also aligning themselves with individual cricketers. The latest addition to this trend is England's star batter, Dawid Malan, who has joined Bangladesh Premier League's (BPL) regular roster.
Malan has been appointed as the ambassador for Linebet, one of the foremost gambling companies worldwide. In his role, he will be involved in the company's global marketing and promotion efforts. The English cricketer is delighted to be associated with the gambling company and looks forward to working closely with them.
"I'm thrilled to become the brand ambassador for Linebet. It's a platform that has created a fantastic environment for sports enthusiasts. I'm excited to take this relationship forward," said Malan.
Malan last played in the BPL in 2023, representing the Comilla Victorians, who emerged as champions that season. Throughout his BPL career from 2016 to 2023, Malan played 28 matches, scoring a total of 869 runs at an average of over 34, including one century and five half-centuries.
It remains to be seen what implications Malan's association with a gambling company holds in BPL, given that gambling is illegal in Bangladesh according to the country's laws.
