The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has made a significant announcement regarding the dates for the next three Indian Premier League (IPL) seasons. The window for the upcoming IPL seasons has been finalized, with the dates now officially confirmed before the mega auction.
The IPL 2025 season will begin on March 14 (Friday) and will run until May 25 (Sunday). The total number of matches for the 2025 season will be 74, just like the last three seasons.
For the 2026 season, the tournament will take place from March 15 to May 31, while in 2027, the tournament will begin on March 14 and conclude with the final on May 30. The BCCI has informed all 10 IPL franchises via email about the dates for the next three seasons.
Here are the confirmed IPL dates:
- IPL 2025: March 14 to May 25
- IPL 2026: March 15 to May 31
- IPL 2027: March 14 to May 30
This announcement comes after discussions about increasing the number of matches in the tournament, with plans already in place for 84 matches in 2026 and 94 matches in 2027. The BCCI had previously indicated the intention to expand the tournament as part of the media rights sale.
