Bangladesh captain Litton Kumar Das will also miss the third and final T20I of the series against Australia. The wicketkeeper-batter has been ruled out of the last match as he has not yet fully recovered from a calf injury.
In a media release issued on Friday, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) said that Litton had not made the expected progress in his rehabilitation and therefore will not be available for the final match of the series, scheduled to be played in Chattogram on June 21. The 30-year-old suffered a Grade 1+ strain to his left calf on June 14.
Litton had already missed the first two matches of the series because of the injury. In his absence, Bangladesh have been led by another player. Missing their captain for the final match is being viewed as a significant setback for the hosts.
The third and final T20I between Bangladesh and Australia will be played in Chattogram on June 21.
