Powered by a century from Najmul Hossain Shanto and composed innings from Mominul Haque and Mushfiqur Rahim, Bangladesh posted a fighting total of 413 runs in their first innings against Pakistan.
Bangladesh looked well set at the start of the second day on Saturday, but the innings lost momentum after Litton Das was dismissed with the team score on 338. From 338 for 4, the Tigers lost five more wickets for just 46 additional runs.
Mushfiqur Rahim was also on course for a memorable innings on his birthday. Resuming from his overnight 48, he completed a well-crafted fifty before being bowled by Shaheen Shah Afridi for 71 off 179 deliveries.
Lower-order batter Taskin Ahmed played a valuable cameo of 28 runs, helping Bangladesh cross the 400-run mark. Eventually, the hosts were bowled out for 413 runs.
For Pakistan, Mohammad Abbas was the standout bowler with five wickets. Shaheen Shah Afridi claimed three wickets, while Hasan Ali and Noman Ali picked up one wicket each.
