Australian opener David Warner has officially retired from T20 internationals following the conclusion of the latest T20 World Cup. Having previously retired from both ODI and Test cricket, Warner has ended his international cricket career. Despite expressing a desire to play in the Champions Trophy, Australia's chief selector George Bailey has made it clear that Warner will not be considered for the national team anymore.

Warner had mentioned in an Instagram post, "I will continue to play franchise cricket for a while. If selected, I would love to play in the Champions Trophy." However, Bailey has confirmed that Warner's international career is definitively over.

Announcing the squads for the upcoming tours to Scotland and England, Bailey stated, "Our understanding is that David Warner has retired. He should be celebrated for his wonderful career across all three formats. It's clear that our plan is for him not to be part of the Champions Trophy squad in Pakistan."

Bailey further commented, "You never know when he's having a bit of fun. It seems he was just testing the waters. He's had a brilliant career, but thinking about the team's future journey, it's exciting to look towards different players."

Warner's retirement marks the end of an era for Australian cricket, as he leaves behind a legacy of significant achievements in all formats of the game.
