India pacer Arundhati Reddy has been reprimanded for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct, the ICC announced on October 7 (Monday). The incident took place in the 20th over of the Women's T20 World Cup 2024 clash between India and Pakistan in Dubai.

Reddy was found to have breached Article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon his/her dismissal during an International Match.”

Additionally, Reddy has also been hit with one demerit point. In the final over of the Pakistan innings, Reddy gestured towards the pavillion after she got the wicket of Nida Dar. Reddy admitted to the offence, and as a result, there was no need of a formal hearing.

Reddy finished with figures of 3/19 and went on to win the Player of the Match award, too. She played a huge role in restricting Pakistan to 105/8, allowing to win by six wickets in the end.

India take on Sri Lanka in their next Women's T20 World Cup encounter in Dubai on October 9 (Wednesday).
