Proteas Seal Huge 157-Run Victory Over Namibia

South Africa leveled the series with a 157-run victory over Namibia, thanks to brilliant performances from Connor Esterhuizen and Duan Jansen.

In the second ODI of the three-match series at Namibia Cricket Ground in Windhoek, South Africa defeated the hosts Namibia by a massive 157-run margin. After losing the toss and being asked to bat first, the visitors posted 335 for 9 in their allotted 50 overs. In reply, Namibia were bowled out for just 178 as Duan Jansen produced a devastating spell of bowling.

South Africa did not make the best start with the bat, but a brilliant partnership between number three batter Tony de Zorzi and Connor Esterhuizen provided the team with a strong foundation. Showcasing an array of elegant strokes all around the ground, Esterhuizen produced a magnificent innings of 119 off 110 balls, including eight fours and six sixes. De Zorzi provided excellent support, scoring 79 off 87 deliveries.

Towards the end of the innings, Dewald Brevis scored 37 off 30 balls, while Ethan Bosch played a sensational cameo of 29 off just 13 deliveries to help South Africa post a massive total of 335. For Namibia, pacer Jack Brassell was the pick of the bowlers, taking four wickets.

Chasing a daunting target of 336, Namibia were immediately pushed onto the back foot. The South African pace duo of Duan Jansen and Ethan Bosch tore through the Namibian top order, leaving the hosts reeling at 3 for 1. Captain Gerhard Erasmus fought hard at one end, scoring 68 off 84 balls, but his determined innings was not enough to keep Namibia in the contest. Despite a late cameo of 30 off 27 balls from Ruben Trumpelmann, Namibia were bowled out for 178 in 41.5 overs.

Jansen was the standout bowler for South Africa, taking four wickets for 31 runs in nine overs. Ethan Bosch also impressed, claiming three wickets for 27 runs.
