Bangladeshi pacer Hasan Mahmud made a brilliant impact on his debut in England’s County Championship, starring for Kent against Lancashire. In his very first match, he claimed a total of 9 wickets across both innings. He played a key role in Kent’s victory, taking a five-wicket haul in the second innings, finishing with 6 wickets in that innings alone.

Speaking in an interview with Kent’s official media, Hasan said, “I think for a fast bowler, taking a five-wicket haul in the very first match is like a dream. Playing my first game here, thinking about how I am bowling and how I can contribute my best to the team’s win felt amazing. It has truly been a wonderful experience in my cricket career.”

He further added, “He (Daniel Bell-Drummond) is a top-quality player and has been playing for Kent for many years. Receiving the debut cap from him was a great honour for me. Throughout the match, he always supported me mentally. Especially after taking wickets, when everyone was applauding around me, that feeling was incredible.”

Explaining his strategy in these conditions, Hasan said that the ball swings more than usual due to the weather in England. “So I tried to adjust my length and bowl fuller, targeting the area in front of the wicket, and that strategy worked perfectly for me.”
