Former Australian cricketer Jamie Siddons has been appointed as the Head Coach of the Sri Lanka National Women’s Cricket Team. The one-year contract will take effect from 16 March 2026.

Siddons’ most notable chapter in international coaching came during his tenure as Head Coach of the Bangladesh National Men’s Team, a role he held from 2007 to 2011. A Level 3 certified coach, he also served as Head Coach of the South Australia cricket team (Redbacks) from 2015 to 2020 and led New Zealand’s Wellington Firebirds from 2011 to 2015.

During his long first-class career in Australia, Siddons captained both South Australia and Victoria.

His appointment is considered significant ahead of Sri Lanka Women’s upcoming international commitments. His primary objective will be to prepare the team for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup scheduled to be held in England in June 2026.

Siddons’ first assignment will be Sri Lanka Women’s tour of Bangladesh, set to take place in April–May 2026.
