BCB Provides Financial Support to U19 World Cup Winner Shahin Alam
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Md Aminul Islam Bulbul has handed over a cheque of BDT 500,000 to cricketer Shahin Alam, a member of the 2020 ICC U19 World Cup winning squad. The financial support aims to provide temporary relief to the player, who has been struggling with long-term injuries, family hardship, and financial difficulties.
BCB Vice Presidents Md Shakawath Hossain and Faruque Ahmed, BCB Director and Chairman of the Cricket Operations Committee Nazmul Abedeen, and CEO Nizam Uddin Chowdhury were present during the cheque handover ceremony.
The pacer from Kurigram played a key role in Bangladesh’s historic victory at the 2020 U19 World Cup held in South Africa. However, he has had to stay away from regular cricket due to a prolonged injury.
Currently, Shahin Alam is facing additional challenges, including the illness of his parents and financial difficulties. He has also been unable to earn from the ongoing First Division Cricket League, as he has not been picked by any team.
The BCB hopes that this support will inspire Shahin Alam to make a return to the field and continue his cricketing career.
