Bangladesh cricket’s most experienced all-rounder, Shakib Al Hasan, is set to make a return to the field as the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and the Ministry of Sports have jointly taken initiatives to facilitate his comeback.

BCB director and chairman of the Age-Level Tournament Committee, Asif Akbar, told journalists, “We are working closely with the ministry to resolve Shakib’s legal complications. We hope to see him back on the field very soon. His experience is invaluable for the national team.”

He further added, “Any team becomes stronger with Shakib in it. His leadership, strategy, and understanding of the game have a significant impact on the team’s performance. His absence has created a gap in the team, which his return can fill.”

Speaking at the prize-giving ceremony of the Young Tigers Under-18 National Cricket Tournament held in Cox’s Bazar, Asif Akbar said, “We want Shakib to return and help strengthen the country’s cricket with his experience. The sooner his fitness, preparation, and legal matters are resolved, the more meaningful his comeback will be.”

Experts believe that Shakib’s return will not only boost the strength of the national side but also inspire youth and domestic cricket. Asif Akbar also stated, “When a cricketer like Shakib is on the field, it is not just about winning matches; it also sets an example for the next generation. We want to see his skills showcased on the field again.”

Cricket fans are hopeful that Shakib Al Hasan will be seen playing on the international stage again within this year, as the coordinated efforts of the BCB and the ministry move forward to turn that hope into reality.
