Litton Returns, Sheikh Mahedi Left Out as Bangladesh Announce ODI Squad for Zimbabwe Tour

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe. The selectors have largely retained the side that recently secured a home series victory over Australia, resulting in no major changes to the squad.

Bangladesh won the three-match ODI series against Australia 2-1, and most of the players from that successful campaign have kept their places for the Zimbabwe tour.

The only change sees Sheikh Mahedi Hasan omitted from the squad. He had received a late call-up ahead of the third ODI against Australia but has not been included for the Zimbabwe series.

Although Litton Das will miss the one-off Test against Zimbabwe due to injury, he has been considered fit enough for white-ball cricket and has therefore been included in the ODI squad.

Bangladesh and Zimbabwe last faced each other in an ODI series in 2022. On that occasion, the Tigers suffered a 2-1 series defeat while touring Zimbabwe.

The two teams will begin their contest with a one-off Test starting on June 28. The ODI series will then get underway on July 6, with the remaining matches scheduled for July 9 and July 11. Following the ODI leg, the sides will also play a three-match T20I series beginning on July 15.

Bangladesh ODI Squad for the Zimbabwe Tour:

Mehidy Hasan Miraz (Captain), Najmul Hossain Shanto (Vice-Captain), Soumya Sarkar, Saif Hassan, Tanzid Hasan Tamim, Towhid Hridoy, Litton Das, Mosaddek Hossain Saikat, Nurul Hasan Sohan, Rishad Hossain, Tanvir Islam, Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam and Nahid Rana.
