Bangladesh Face Whitewash Threat in Final T20 Against Pakistan; Khaled Ahmed Makes T20I Debut
The final match of the three-match T20I series between Bangladesh and Pakistan is taking place today at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium. With the series already lost 2–0, Bangladesh are under pressure to avoid a whitewash. However, in this crucial game, captain Litton Das lost the toss once again, and Pakistan’s stand-in captain Agha Salman invited Bangladesh to bat first.
One of the notable highlights of the match is the T20I debut of fast bowler Syed Khaled Ahmed. The 32-year-old has previously represented Bangladesh in 16 Tests and 2 ODIs. Initially included in the squad due to Mustafizur Rahman’s injury, Khaled got his opportunity after pacer Shoriful Islam was ruled out for at least two weeks with a muscle injury sustained during the second T20I.
Bangladesh suffered heavy defeats in the first two matches of the series, conceding 201 runs in both games and losing by 37 and 57 runs, respectively. A win today would help them salvage pride and avoid a clean sweep.
