Nahid Rana on Injury Issue: "When You Go to War, You Have to Take the Shots"

Today, Rangpur Riders secured their fifth win in the BPL by defeating Dhaka Capitals for the second time. In this match, pace bowler Nahid Rana was the standout performer for the team, taking 3 wickets for just 21 runs. His brilliant bowling played a key role in ensuring Rangpur's victory, and he was awarded the Player of the Match award. With 9 wickets in 5 matches, Nahid has become the second highest wicket-taker in the tournament so far.

After the match, Nahid shared his thoughts, saying, "When you go into battle, you have to take the shots," referring to his nonchalant approach towards injuries. He added, "I don't worry about injuries. When I step onto the field, my focus is on performing, and I maintain my fitness. I follow the fitness routines and schedules provided by BCB, and whatever comes next, Alhamdulillah."

So far, with 9 wickets from 5 matches, Nahid's exceptional performances have been a big asset for the Rangpur Riders. Rangpur has benefited greatly by bringing him into the team. Nahid said, "Rangpur gave me the opportunity, and I am making the most of it. Their coaches and management have been very supportive, helping me focus on the task at hand, and I am trying to perform well on the field."

Pace is his natural strength, and his height allows him to extract extra bounce from the pitch, which has been a challenge for the batters. Nahid keeps himself grounded and humbly stated, "I don't consider myself a star. I am just an ordinary person like all of you, and I try to remain humble."

Acknowledging the challenges of pace bowling injuries, he commented, "In cricket, injuries are part of the game, like getting shot in battle. But I stay focused on maintaining my fitness and following the schedule set by BCB."
