Pakistan-Bangladesh T20I series to be played without DRS

The much-anticipated T20I series between Pakistan and Bangladesh will be played without the Decision Review System (DRS). Due to the absence of technical staff, DRS will not be in use, just as it was in the latter stages of the recently concluded Pakistan Super League (PSL). This means on-field umpire decisions will be final throughout the series.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has not made any official announcement explaining the unavailability of DRS. However, sources suggest that technical staff responsible for operating DRS equipment have not returned to Pakistan following tensions stemming from the recent India-Pakistan conflict.

As a result, the series will proceed without ball-tracking, UltraEdge, or other review technologies, leaving players to rely entirely on the on-field umpires' judgment.

Until May 7, DRS was in use during the initial stages of the PSL. However, after the tournament resumed following its suspension, the playoffs and final were played without DRS. The same situation will apply to the Bangladesh series, as the PCB is still unable to deploy the system.

Despite the absence of DRS, umpires will be allowed to consult each other if uncertain about a decision. Once a decision is made, it can still be reversed upon mutual agreement, but there will be no player review option.
