Russell Domingo Appointed as Lahore Qalandars' Head Coach

Lahore Qalandars, one of the most successful teams in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), has appointed Russell Domingo as their new head coach for the upcoming season. Darren Gough stepped down from the role due to personal reasons, prompting the team to search for a new coach.

Last year, during the Global Super League in Guyana, Lahore Qalandars appointed Darren Gough as their head coach. Although he was considered for a long-term role, he chose to step down for personal reasons.

The franchise has now selected former Bangladesh coach Russell Domingo as their new head coach. The team, having won two PSL titles in the last three seasons, will now look to secure their third title.

This season, Bangladesh's leg-spinner Rishad Hossain will be playing for Lahore Qalandars. Domingo is excited to have Rishad and the rest of the team under his coaching.

He said, "I am thrilled to take on the role of head coach for Lahore Qalandars for the 2025 PSL season. I’m eager to get back to work and meet the players and management. We know that the fans will support us, and we’ll do our best to make them proud."

Lahore Qalandars will begin their PSL 10 campaign on April 11, facing defending champions Islamabad United in Rawalpindi.
