Players Missing from Bangladesh's ICC Champions Trophy Squad
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced a 15-member squad for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, with notable exclusions including experienced opening batsman Litton Das, all-rounder Afif Hossain Dhrubo, and pacers Shoriful Islam and Hasan Mahmud.
Two days ago, Tamim Iqbal announced his retirement from international cricket. In addition, it was confirmed that Shakib Al Hasan will not be part of the preliminary squad for the Champions Trophy due to his faulty bowling action.
Litton Das's exclusion from the squad comes after a long period of poor form. The last time he scored a half-century in One Day International (ODI) cricket was 15 months ago, after playing 13 innings since then. In the past year, Litton's performance has been disappointing, with only 6 runs from 5 innings, and three of those innings resulted in ducks.
Along with Litton, pacer Hasan Mahmud, all-rounder Afif Hossain, and pacer Shoriful Islam have also been left out of the squad from the previous series.
