Sri Lanka Announces Squad for ODI Series Against Australia
Sri Lanka Announces Squad for ODI Series Against Australia
Sri Lanka has announced its squad for the upcoming two-match ODI series against Australia. The 16-member squad will be led by Charith Asalanka. There has been only one change in the squad from the team that played in the previous ODI series against New Zealand.
Chamindu Vikramasinghe has been dropped from the squad for the Australia series. Apart from this, all regular players are included in the squad. Sri Lanka failed to qualify for the 2025 Champions Trophy, which is set to begin on February 19, so the upcoming series against Australia is not as crucial for them. After playing two ODIs against Sri Lanka, the Australian team will head to Pakistan.
The first ODI of the series will take place on February 12, followed by the second ODI on February 14.
Sri Lanka is currently not in the best of form. They lost the recent ODI series against New Zealand 2-1. Additionally, they were whitewashed in the Test series at home by Australia. Now, Sri Lanka faces the challenge of the ODI series against the Aussies.
