Dhaka Division Faces Fourth Consecutive Loss in NCL T20 as Anamul Haque Bijoy's Century Guides Khulna to 21-Run Victory

Dhaka Division suffered their fourth consecutive defeat in the NCL T20, as Anamul Haque Bijoy's brilliant unbeaten century led Khulna to a 21-run victory. Vijay's century, which included 5 sixes and 10 fours, earned him the Player of the Match award, and Khulna finally broke their losing streak with this win.

In the match at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Khulna, batting first after losing the toss, had an explosive start. The opening partnership between Imrul Kayes and Anamul Haque Bijoy produced 41 runs before Kayes was dismissed for 14 by Nazmul Islam Apu, falling victim to a leg-before wicket.

Soon after, Apu struck again, removing Azizul Hakim Tamim in the same fashion, also LBW. Mohammad Mithun was dismissed for a duck, but Bijoy continued his attack at the other end. After Mithun’s departure in the 11.2 over, Nurul Hasan Sohan joined Vijay, and together they built the innings further.

Bijoy reached his century off 66 balls, finishing with an impressive 101 runs. Sohan played a quick cameo, scoring 34 off 23 balls, with 2 sixes and 1 four. Khulna finished their innings at 180 for 3 in 20 overs.

In response, Dhaka Division's chase was doomed from the start. They lost their first wicket for just 12 runs, and quickly found themselves at 21/2. By the time they were 32/3, Dhaka’s hopes were dwindling. Jawad Abrar made 11 off 10 balls, while opener Rony Talukdar was dismissed for 7. Captain Saif Hassan was also out cheaply, scoring just 10 off 13 balls.

Despite the early collapse, Dhaka tried to recover with some late hitting from Taibur Rahman and Mahidul Islam Ankon. Taibur scored a quick-fire 63 not out, while Mahidul contributed 43 off 23 balls. However, their efforts weren’t enough to bridge the gap, as Dhaka’s innings ended at 159 for 4, falling 21 runs short of the target.

Khulna claimed a thrilling 21-run victory, with their strong batting performance and tight bowling ensuring a much-needed win.
