Rangpur Division continued their dominant form in the NCL T20, securing a comprehensive 7-wicket win over Barisal Division, further solidifying their position at the top of the points table with five consecutive victories.
In the morning match at Sylhet's outer ground, Barisal won the toss and chose to bat first. However, they were dismissed for just 108 runs before completing their full 20 overs. Rangpur's pacers put in a stellar performance, with one bowler taking 4 wickets for just 9 runs, contributing significantly to Barisal's collapse.
In response, Rangpur chased down the target with ease, achieving victory in 17.5 overs. The top-order played steadily, ensuring the target was reached comfortably.
Al-Auddin Babu was the standout bowler for Rangpur, taking 4 wickets for only 9 runs in his 4 overs. Paceman Mukidul Islam also played a crucial role, picking up 2 wickets.
In the chase, Rangpur lost Tanvir Haider early in the second over, but Naim Islam contributed 16 runs. The highlight of the innings was the performance of opener Mohammad Rizwan, who scored a brilliant 53 before being dismissed.
