Dinesh Karthik Reflects on his Memories with Bangladesh Cricket and Shakib Al Hasan

Recently, former Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik joined the Abu Dhabi T10 League team, Bangla Tigers, alongside Shakib Al Hasan, a global superstar. Midway through the tournament, Karthik shared a heartfelt video message on the official Bangla Tigers Facebook page, reminiscing about his personal experiences with Bangladesh and its cricketers.

In the video, Karthik spoke fondly about Bangladesh, saying, "I have many memories related to Bangladesh, but the Nidahas Trophy memory will always be special to me. Even though I’ve played against Bangladesh, I have great respect and love for them."

Karthik also mentioned his experience playing in Bangladesh's domestic cricket. In 2016, he played for Abahani Limited in the Dhaka Premier League, where he had the opportunity to play alongside some well-known Bangladesh players like Liton Das, Nazmul Hossain Shanto, and Mosaddek Hossain Saikat. Reflecting on his time in Bangladesh, Karthik shared, "I have played domestic cricket there for Abahani. I know how cricket is played there and how much talent exists. I also have friends like Shakib Al Hasan, whom I have known for a long time. When I played for Abahani, young players like Liton Das, Nazmul Hossain Shanto, and Mosaddek Hossain were also part of the team. I know many people in Bangladesh."

Karthik also expressed his admiration for Shakib Al Hasan, Bangla Tigers' captain, praising him as one of the best all-rounders in Bangladesh’s cricket history. He said, "Shakib Al Hasan is one of the best all-rounders in the history of Bangladesh cricket. He is an exceptional player in all three formats. We all know how Shakib has represented Bangladesh on the world cricket stage. He has been leading Bangladesh from a young age and has always stepped up in pressure situations to guide the team. I have always regarded him as a great cricketer. As a captain, he is very strategic, and I’m excited to play alongside him this time."
