IPL 2024: Matt Henry replaces David Willey at Lucknow Super Giants
As a replacement for David Willey, the Lucknow Super Giants have picked fast bowler Matt Henry for the team. Initially, there were reports that Willey might not be available due to personal reasons at the start of the IPL. However, this time, Willey has withdrawn himself from the entire tournament.
Royal Challengers Bangalore have signed Willey for two seasons. In the last year's auction, this bowler was bought by this team for ₹2 crores. Willey has been in action for the past two months, gearing up for this season.
Before this, Henry has played in the United Arab Emirates league for Abu Dhabi Night Riders and in the Pakistan Premier League for Multan Sultans. He was previously in India to play in the World Cup for New Zealand.
Henry was acquired by the Lakhnau Giants for ₹1.25 crores this season. However, he remained unsold in the previous auctions. He was previously part of the Chennai Super Kings squad as well. However, he did not get the opportunity to play.
