Bangladesh defeated Sri Lanka by 28 runs in the Women’s U-19 Asia Cup in their first group stage match at the Oval in Malaysia. Bangladesh batted first after losing the toss, posting a total of 122 runs in 17 overs, losing 9 wickets. In response, Sri Lanka was restricted to 94 runs in their allotted overs.

Bangladesh's innings got off to a rocky start, with opener Juairiya Ferdous being dismissed for a duck. However, in the second-wicket partnership, Eva and Sumaiya Akter added 43 runs, with Eva contributing 18 and Sumaiya scoring 24.

At a team total of 61, Bangladesh lost two quick wickets. After that, Afifa Ashima and Sadia Akter formed a valuable partnership to stabilize the innings.
