Rangpur Riders Express Gratitude to BCB for Allowing Players to Play Final
Rangpur Riders have emerged as the champions of the Global Super League, defeating Victoria Cricket in a thrilling final. However, there was uncertainty surrounding their participation in the final, as three of their key players—Soumya Sarkar, Afif Hossain Dhruv, and Rishad Hossain—were already part of the Bangladesh squad for the upcoming ODI series against the West Indies. With the first ODI set to begin on December 8, these three players were expected to join the Bangladesh team.
Initially, this created a dilemma for Rangpur Riders, as they had only 12 players with them in Guyana, making it impossible for the team to field a full squad in the final without these players. In this challenging situation, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) stepped in and extended the No-Objection Certificate (NOC) for the three players by one more day, allowing them to participate in the final.
Rangpur Riders, relieved and grateful for the support, posted a heartfelt message on their official Facebook page. They expressed their gratitude towards the BCB, writing:
"Alhamdulillah! Special thanks to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). All the Bangladeshi players were able to participate in the Global Super League T20 Final!"
The post further added a message to their supporters: "Continue supporting us. We always seek your prayers!"
This thoughtful gesture from the BCB allowed Rangpur Riders to field their full-strength team, culminating in their victory in the final.
