Pune Devils batting coach and co-owners banned for corruption in Abu Dhabi T10 2021
In the Abu Dhabi T10 League, Pune Devils' batting coach Ashar Zaidi and team co-owners Parag Sanghavi and Krishan Kumar Choudhury have been banned by the ICC for corruption related to the 2021 season.
Zaidi has been banned from all forms of cricket for five years. Sanghavi and Krishan have received two-year bans after admitting to two offenses under the code. The ICC announced this punishment in a statement, which is effective from September 19, 2023.
Each ban has a 12-month suspended period, allowing Zaidi to resume cricketing activities after four years, while Sanghavi and Krishan can return after one year.
Previously, Pune's captain and Bangladeshi off-spin all-rounder Nasir Hossain was also banned from all forms of cricket for two years, with a six-month suspended period. Nasir can return to cricket after April 7, 2025, provided he meets the conditions of his suspension.
