Tanzim Hasan Sakib's Performance Overshadowed in Guyana Amazon Warriors' Loss to Victoria

In the second match of the Global Super League T20, Guyana Amazon Warriors faced a 4-wicket loss to Victoria, despite a solid performance from Bangladesh pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib. Although Sakib took a wicket, he conceded 34 runs in his 4-over spell, and his team's defeat marred his efforts.

Sakib had previously made an impact in the opening match of the tournament against Lahore Qalandars, where he claimed two wickets. However, against Victoria, he managed only one wicket. Despite his efforts, Guyana Amazon Warriors could not secure a win.

Guyana Amazon Warriors, batting first, posted a total of 162/6 in their 20 overs. Opening batsman Moeen Ali played a crucial knock of 51 runs from 33 balls, while his opening partner, Roston Chase, was dismissed for 10. Shai Hope, coming in at number three, provided much-needed stability. The second-wicket partnership between Moeen Ali and Shai Hope contributed 74 runs to the team’s total.

Hope scored 40 runs from 30 balls before being dismissed, and Shimron Hetmyer contributed 18 runs. Romario Shepherd's slow batting produced just 10 runs from 17 balls, while Hasan Khan’s cameo of 25 runs pushed the total past 160.

In Victoria’s chase, Sakib made his mark in the second over with the ball. After conceding two boundaries off his first two deliveries, he responded by conceding no runs in the next four balls. In his second over, Sakib went wicketless but gave away 6 runs.

In his third over, Sakib broke through by dismissing Scott Edwards, who was on 31, but he conceded 9 runs in the over. In the 19th over, Sakib allowed 11 runs, making the task easier for Victoria to chase the target.

Sakib finished his 4-over spell with figures of 1 wicket for 34 runs. Victoria completed the chase in 19.2 overs, winning by 4 wickets. Despite his efforts, Sakib's performance was overshadowed by his team's loss.
