The excitement of the Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction is at its peak. The second day began in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, with news that Kane Williamson and Glenn Phillips remained unsold. In an unexpected turn, Ajinkya Rahane, Prithvi Shaw, and Mayank Agarwal also went unsold.

Cricket fans have their eyes on the two-day-long 2025 IPL mega auction. On the first day of the auction, a total of 72 players were sold. The second day started with some surprising results. New Zealand stars Kane Williamson and all-rounder Glenn Phillips found no takers among the franchises.

First, Williamson's name was called, followed by Phillips, but there was complete silence around the table. Both players had a base price of 2 crore rupees each. Another New Zealand all-rounder, Daryl Mitchell, also saw no interest from any team.

Ajinkya Rahane and Mayank Agarwal also remained unsold at the start of the day. Another surprise name in the unsold list was Prithvi Shaw. Shardul Thakur, Shai Hope, and Alex Carey also failed to attract bids.

However, the day saw some exciting picks. Caribbean all-rounder Rovman Powell was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for his base price of 1.5 crore rupees. Faf du Plessis was picked up by Delhi Capitals. English all-rounder Sam Curran was acquired by Chennai Super Kings.

To secure Nitish Rana, Rajasthan Royals had to spend 4.20 crore rupees. Australian wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis was bought by Punjab Kings for 2.60 crore rupees.
