The Pakistan women's team has received troubling news as captain Fatima Sana has returned home during the World Cup. Fatima's father has passed away, prompting her to leave the tournament to attend his last rites.
Pakistan is set to play their third match against Australia on October 11. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that Fatima will not participate in the match against Australia. In her absence, Muniba Ali will lead the team in their crucial fight to stay in contention for the semifinals.
Fatima's absence is a significant blow for Pakistan, as they must win one of their remaining two matches in Group A to advance to the semifinals.
Pakistan has only secured one victory in the World Cup, which was against Sri Lanka. In that match, she scored 30 runs and took two wickets. Currently, Pakistan is third in the points table of Group A, with 2 points from 1 win and 1 loss in 2 matches.
