Shakib wants to play in the second Test
Bangladesh's international engagements for the year 2024 kicked off with a two-sided series against Sri Lanka. In this ongoing series, Shakib Al Hasan has been absent due to prior commitments. However, he expresses his desire to return for the matches, showing interest in playing the second Test of the series in Chattogram.
After playing three One Day Internationals and T20 matches against Sri Lanka, Tigers are now facing them in a two-match Test series. It was known that Shakib Al Hasan was keen on playing both Tests against Sri Lanka. However, he didn't play in the first Test. If everything goes well, he will return to the field for the second Test in Chattogram.
Currently, Bangladesh is playing the first Test against Sri Lanka in Sylhet. Amongst this, the news emerges that Shakib Al Hasan is interested in playing the second Test against Sri Lanka. Recently, he has been seen practicing at Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club ground.
The second Test will commence from March 30 at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram. Shakib's return could bolster Bangladesh's squad. Last year in April, he played his last Test against Ireland. After stepping down from captaincy, everyone is eagerly waiting for Shakib's return to the field.
