West Indies cricketer Alzarri Joseph has been handed a two-match suspension by the ICC for unprofessional behavior on the field. The incident occurred during the third ODI between West Indies and England when Joseph engaged in a heated exchange with captain Shai Hope and eventually left the field.

During the match, television screens captured a visibly frustrated Joseph speaking to Hope, seemingly displeased with the slip fielding position. His irritation grew, leading him to exit the field mid-game.

Alzarri has since apologized for his conduct, saying, “I have personally apologized to captain Shai Hope, my teammates, and management. I sincerely apologize to the West Indies fans as well. I understand that even a small lapse in judgment can have a significant impact, and I am deeply regretful for causing any disappointment.”

West Indies coach Daren Sammy described the incident as "unacceptable behavior," stating, “Such conduct on the cricket field is unacceptable. We are all friends here, and it doesn’t align with the culture I am trying to build. We will definitely address this matter.”

Reacting swiftly, West Indies Cricket Director Miles Bascombe noted, “Alzarri’s actions were inconsistent with the core values of Cricket West Indies. Behavior like this cannot be ignored, and we felt it was necessary to take decisive action given the severity of the incident.”
