Six Sri Lankan players have obtained new career-high ratings
Sri Lanka has achieved a memorable Test victory over England for the first time in ten years. In the final Test of the three-match series, the Lankan cricketers delivered exceptional performances, leading to a significant ranking boost for six Sri Lankan players. Meanwhile, Joe Root remains in his previous ranking, while Harry Brook has seen a decline.
Captain Dhananjaya de Silva, middle-order batter Kamindu Mendis, and opener Pathum Nissanka all delivered outstanding performances. Dhananjaya de Silva scored the highest runs for his team in the first innings with 69 runs, moving up three places to 13th in the Test batting rankings.
Both Mendis and Nissanka have achieved career-best ratings in the Test batter rankings. Kamindu Mendis, with a half-century against England, has risen six places to 19th. Pathum Nissanka, scoring 127 runs, has advanced 42 places to 39th.
Despite scoring only 12 and 13 runs at The Oval, England's Joe Root has retained his position as the number one Test batter. However, his rating has dropped from 922 points to 899. England’s Harry Brook has fallen seven places to 12th.
In the latest Test bowler rankings, Sri Lanka's Fernando, with five wickets against England, has moved up 13 places to 31st. Lahiru Kumara has improved by 10 places to 32nd. Milan Rathnayake has advanced 26 places to now hold the 84th position. On the other hand, England’s pace bowler Ollie Stone has risen 13 places to 74th.
