Today, October 14, marks the player draft for the 11th season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), where seven franchises will look to recruit from the available pool of cricketers.
Several star Bangladeshi players have already secured teams through retention and direct signings, but some prominent names remain unsigned, and all eyes will be on them during the draft.
In the top category, ‘A’ (worth BDT 6 million), players like Litton Das, Mahmudullah Riyad, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Taskin Ahmed, and Rishad Hossain are expected to attract significant attention.
Meanwhile, in category ‘B’ (worth BDT 4 million), players such as Hasan Mahmud, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Shamim Patowary, Parvez Hossain Emon, and Tanvir Islam will also come under the spotlight.
In category ‘C’ (worth BDT 2.5 million), notable names include Abu Hider Rony, Ebadot Hossain, Imrul Kayes, Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Mohammad Mithun, Saif Hassan, Mominul Haque, Mosaddek Hossain Saikat, Nahid Rana, Naim Sheikh, Soumya Sarkar, Syed Khaled Ahmed, Taijul Islam, and Yasir Ali Chowdhury Rabbi.
From category ‘D’ (worth BDT 2 million), only Zishan Alam has secured a team so far. In category ‘E’ (worth BDT 1.5 million), 51 players, and in category ‘F’ (worth BDT 1 million), 73 players remain unsigned ahead of the draft. These players will be keenly awaiting their chances today.
