ICC gave statement on New York Pitch
In this year's ICC T20 World Cup, the United States of America (USA) is co-hosting alongside the West Indies. Matches are being held at three venues in the United States, one of which is the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.
This World Cup marks the debut of this venue. With drop-in wickets, an outfield constructed in a short period, and the gallery, this stadium has been a central topic of discussion.
However, problems arose once the matches started. The behavior of the wickets and the condition of the outfield were not satisfactory. Cricket analysts have criticized the venue after watching the South Africa vs. Sri Lanka match and the India vs. Ireland match.
Now, a statement has come from the ICC. They have also acknowledged that this venue did not meet their expectations.
In a statement, the ICC said, "The ICC acknowledges that the pitches used so far at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium have not behaved as we all would have liked.
A world-class grounds team has been working hard since the end of yesterday's game to rectify the situation and provide the best possible pitches for the remaining matches."
