Mumbai Indians (MI) started this season's Indian Premier League (IPL) with three losses. However, they have bounced back into a favorable position by winning three out of their last four matches. In their final match, they won against Punjab Kings (PBKS) by 9 runs.
However, Hardik Pandya had to face face penalties for this match against Punjab Kings. According to a press release by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), it has been informed that Mumbai's slow over-rate during the match against Punjab Kings at the Mullanpur PC Stadium has led to penalties.
This incident marks Mumbai Indians' first slow over-rate violation of the season. As per the IPL's Code of Conduct, they have been fined a minimum penalty of ₹12 lakhs.
With 3 wins in 7 matches, Mumbai Indians currently hold the 7th position in the points table. Rajasthan Royals lead the table with 12 points. Royal Challengers Bengaluru are at the bottom of the points table with 2 points.
