Litton Das: Team Management Will Fully Back Shohan and Saif
Bangladesh captain Litton Das has assured full support from the team management for Nurul Hasan Shohan and Saif Hassan as the duo make their return to the national side for the upcoming three-match T20I series against the Netherlands starting August 3 in Sylhet.
Both players earned their recall after consistent performances in domestic cricket, including the BPL, Global T20 League, and Australia’s TNT tournament. Speaking at a press conference, Litton praised their hard work and expressed confidence in their abilities:
“I’m very happy to have them in the team. It doesn’t mean the players left out are bad — they’ve also contributed a lot to Bangladesh cricket, and I’m sure they’ll get opportunities again in the future.”
Litton particularly highlighted Shohan’s consistent performances in recent years:
“Shohan has been playing good cricket for a long time.”
Regarding Saif, Litton revealed that the selection was strategic:
“We needed a player who could be aggressive in the middle overs. Saif has shown that intent in the BPL, Global T20, and even in Australia. He can also bowl a couple of overs, which adds balance to the team.”
However, the Bangladesh skipper made it clear that failures won’t affect the management’s trust in them:
“In T20 cricket, you can get out while trying to play aggressively. What matters is the intent. If we see a player giving his best for the team, we’ll always support him.”
Litton himself hasn’t had the best run in his last two matches but views the Netherlands series as an opportunity to regain form on home soil:
“My goal is to play good cricket and give 100% from my side,” he said.
With Sohan and Saif back in the squad, the Netherlands series will serve as a crucial test for Bangladesh’s new-look T20I setup ahead of the Asia Cup.
